Cloud based database

4 posts in this topic

Hi,

Our web site is going to be used in other countries such as Australia and we would like to be sure that the performance will be good from there. How can we test this?

It the performance is not good enough how can we make it better?

Thank you,

Regards,

Boris

Hi Boris,

If you are talking about the website and not the database as mentioned in the title, then you need to use a CDN. CloudFlare is a CDN and can be used for free for all our hosting accounts. As I remember they also have several PoPs in Australia. A CDN distributes your content around the world in the different PoPs and will speed up the website for everyone outside of Norway.

You can turn on CloudFlare easily inside cPanel and as soon as DNS has propagated you can test in the different test tools regarding page load time from different locations.

Good to hear :)

You would have to setup database replication across multiple servers around the world. But this would only be useful if you also do the same for your website (on multiple servers around the world close to the database servers) and you also use some kind of anycast technology - in other words not something easily done.
